As part of the visit, Richmond also held a preseason training session at John Foord Oval on Friday morning, November 28.

The session was open to fans, who later enjoyed a player signing session and photo opportunity. Then in the afternoon, the playing group returned to Yarrawonga and jumped in canoes for a 10km paddle down the Murray River. The players were challenged with various tasks along the way, such as swapping positions in the canoe while on the water.

Richmond CEO Shane Dunne said the trip helped the club kick off the year with strong momentum.

“We know there are Richmond fans everywhere, particularly in the Yarrawonga and broader North East region,” he said.

“Connecting with these fans at schools and around the community during the week, as well as their presence at our open training, creates a great buzz.”
