The show, airing on Channel 10 and WIN, will be firing up the barbecue at Rivergum Holiday Park, Corowa, in a bid to raise much-needed funds for Rural Aid.
Locals are urged to bring deck-chairs, spare change and their favourite drinks to the holiday park on Honour Avenue from 6pm onwards.
Four-wheel-driving legend and Australian outback aficionado Craig ‘Macca’ McGown will lead the Convoy for Charity Happy Hours with Fireman Ron singing up a storm and Bush Poet Prousty prosing an ode or two.
For the last eight seasons, What’s Up Downunder has hit the road to raise funds for charity. Along with the usual cast members ‘Macca’ and Robby Nethercote, there is a convoy of caravanners, towing eight Best of the Best 2019/20 caravans, who will be visiting local attractions and inviting locals to a Happy Hour to help raise funds for Rural Aid.
Rural Aid’s primary purpose is to provide assistance in the event the poverty, illness, distress or significant and unusual disadvantage of individuals and families working on the land who are or have been adversely affected by drought, floods and other natural disasters.
The charity is also focused on taking a pro-active role in supporting the mental health of farmers by introducing projects that increase the viability of their farm while assisting in risk mitigation.
Rural Aid supports local farmers throughout Australia who are currently dealing with the devastating effect of the drought that has taken hold.
This month alone 450 farmers have contacted Rural Aid for assistance according to the charity. With its Buy a Bale initiative along with Buy a Cow, Farm Army and Farm Rescue, Rural Aid has been instrumental in changing the lives of farmers in need.
There’s prizes to be won, a sausage sizzle and more as things kick off at 6pm.
