The company says the expansion increases transport options for residents, local workers and visitors while creating flexible earning opportunities for drivers.
Numurkah, Kyabram, Benalla and Wangaratta are among regional areas now offering the rideshare service.
Uber currently operates in hundreds of regional Australian cities and towns, with ride numbers in regional areas growing four times faster than in the nation’s five largest cities.
Uber ANZ managing director Emma Foley said regional Victoria was known for stunning landscapes, with the expansion giving locals greater flexibility to get around.
“People are balancing work, family, social plans and everything in between, and by expanding Uber to these 15 towns, we’re offering a new way for locals to get around, unlocking a new flexible earning opportunity and supporting thriving regional tourism,” Ms Foley said.
- Before the trip, riders are matched with accredited drivers. All Uber driver partners undergo rigorous screening and checks requiring drivers to hold authorisations for ridesharing. Riders can also turn on an optional unique 4-digit PIN to make sure they’re getting into the right vehicle.
- During the trip, every ride is GPS tracked. Riders can easily share their journey in real time with friends and family through the Share My Trip feature — a simple way to let someone know you’re on your way.
- After the trip, feedback matters. Riders can leave a rating or report any issue in-app, with a dedicated safety team on hand to follow up on any concerns.

Eligible Victorian Seniors Car and Senior Savers Card holder can access exclusive savings, including 50 per cent off the first five rides for new riders and five per cent off every subsequent ride.
