US study looks at lameness

The camera of the CattleEye system captures each cow as it exits the milking parlour, and the dedicated software analyses its movement pattern and detects possible lameness as well as a body condition score.

A joint research project by the US-based Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding and the University of Minnesota presented new findings on the genetic basis of lameness in dairy cows at the World Dairy Expo 2025 in Wisconsin.
