        Billy-Joe Wimshurst-Quin, 24, of Kialla, pleaded guilty in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to drug-driving and driving unlicensed.
    
                  
                                                                
                  
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                        
                                            
                              
        Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Anna Hanlon said Wimshurst-Quin tested positive to methamphetamines while he was driving a red Mitsubishi unlicensed on Archer Rd, Kialla on July 14.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        His South Australian licence had been cancelled in May, and he had a history of drink-driving, the court heard.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Wimshurst-Quin told police he was driving “to do the shopping and get some lunch” and he didn’t know drugs were still in his system.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Representing himself in court, Wimshurst-Quin said he had used methamphetamines a few days before he was pulled over by police.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Magistrate Simon Zebrowski told him “you can be sober as a judge” and still be detected with drugs in your system days later.
    
                  
                                                                
                  
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Wimshurst-Quin was fined $600 and disqualified from applying for a licence for 12 months, starting Monday, December 2.
