The event will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at 1pm.
Hosted by the Committee for Greater Shepparton, the event will build on the Tri-councils Manufacturing Forum that identified energy as key to the development of manufacturing in northern Victoria.
C4GS chair Leigh Findlay said food would always be needed and most of the growth in demand was in export markets close to Australia.
“With the right energy settings these exports will come from manufacturers and processors in our backyard,” he said.
Powercor, Australian Gas Infrastructure Group and other members of the energy sector including universities, innovators and local operators will be in attendance to discuss new approaches to energy use, generation, storage and freight.
“This is a region that makes things, moves things and solves problems,” Mr Findlay said.
“If we can get the energy settings right, we give local businesses a better shot at growing, investing and staying competitive over the long-term – and will give our communities exciting, globally relevant and leading careers and opportunities.”
