For a century and a half, thousands of children have walked through our gates to learn, grow and build lifelong friendships.
While much has changed since the school first opened its doors, our commitment to providing every child with a high-quality education in a caring and supportive environment has remained constant.
Today, Shepparton East Primary School is home to almost 150 students learning across 10 classrooms.
Our students benefit from a broad and engaging curriculum that extends beyond the classroom through specialist programs in science, physical education, performing arts and art.
We are proud of our strong focus on literacy, numeracy and student wellbeing, ensuring every child develops the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive both at school and beyond.
Guided by our school motto, ‘By Learning, We Grow’, we strive to foster curiosity, resilience, kindness and a genuine love of learning in every student.
One of the greatest strengths of Shepparton East Primary School is our sense of community.
We value the strong partnerships we have built with our families, recognising that education is most successful when schools and parents work together.
Many of our current families have longstanding connections with the school, with children following in the footsteps of parents and grandparents who also attended Shepparton East.
These enduring relationships are a testament to the important role our school has played in the lives of local families for 150 years.
I consider myself incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a dedicated and passionate team of teachers, education support staff and volunteers.
Every member of our staff is committed to ensuring students feel safe, supported and challenged to achieve their personal best.
They continually seek opportunities to refine their practice, embrace new approaches to teaching and learning, and provide every child with the encouragement they need to succeed.
Their care, professionalism and unwavering commitment are what make Shepparton East Primary School such a special place.
Of course, the heart of our school is our students.
They arrive each day eager to learn, willing to support one another and ready to embrace new opportunities.
Whether they are excelling in the classroom, representing the school in sport, performing on stage or simply showing kindness to a classmate, they demonstrate the values that define our school community.
Watching our students grow into confident, respectful and capable young people is one of the greatest privileges of being principal.
As we celebrate this significant milestone, I would like to sincerely thank the dedicated members of our 150th Anniversary Committee, whose countless hours of planning and organisation have made these celebrations possible.
I also acknowledge the many principals, teachers, education support staff, school councillors, parents, volunteers and community members who have contributed to the success of Shepparton East Primary School over the past 150 years.
Their dedication has helped shape the wonderful school we know today.
While we proudly honour our past, we are equally excited about the future.
Together, we will continue to build on the strong foundations laid by those before us, ensuring Shepparton East Primary School remains a place where every child is inspired to learn, encouraged to grow and supported to achieve their full potential.
Thank you to everyone — past and present — who has been part of the Shepparton East Primary School story.
Here’s to celebrating 150 years of learning, community and achievement, and to the many memories and milestones still to come.
