The highlight of the regatta was the Victorian Sprint Championships for the open events, held on Sunday. With races pushing competitors to the limits, many concluded with the outcome hanging on the last stroke.
In a close contest, Essendon Rowing Club clinched the title of the most successful club at the regatta, narrowly surpassing Mercantile Rowing Club and Corowa Rowing Club.
Reflecting on the regatta’s atmosphere, Andrew McNeil from Mercantile Rowing Club expressed, “We love coming to this regatta. The feel of the regatta is great, and it is the best regatta of the season to get a lot of races under the belt. We will be coming back next season for sure with even bigger numbers.”

The event also welcomed the inaugural participation of the newly formed Lake Eildon Rowing Club, alongside numerous smaller clubs that undertook significant journeys to converge in Rutherglen.
The Murray Rowing Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors, and steadfast supporters whose contributions made the regatta possible. The event consistently earns acclaim, frequently being voted the best regatta in Rowing Victoria’s annual awards.
