Corowa RSL Bowls Club

Jackpot bowls on Saturday has been proving to be very successful. The club has had between 12 and 20 bowlers attending each Saturday, even when the weather is on the chilly side.  The Bowls Jackpot has so far gone off twice, with the jackpot format continuing for the next few weeks.  

The club is fast approaching the start of pennant season, with the match committee hard at work producing a spread sheet with all up and coming events, a copy of this sheet is on the notice board at the club rooms.  

A couple of items to mark on your calendar are the opening day and general meeting.  These events will be taking place on Sunday September 1 2019 with the general meeting commencing at 10.30am and a game of bowls to follow at 12noon, uniform to be worn.   Furthermore, the annual Barooga Bowling Challenge is on Sunday 15 September 2019, will the BBQ commencing at 12 noon with the bowls event starting at 1pm.  Cost is $5, again uniform is to be worn and nomination list for this event is on the notice board.  

The new club jackets and hoodies have arrived, if you have ordered one please see Barry Warburton regarding collection.  

Tuesday social bowls is starting again, commencing this Tuesday August 6. Visitors are more than welcome to come along, free coaching available for those wanting to learn more about lawn bowls.

Corowa Indoor Bowls

After the mid- year dinner on Sunday evening, Monday evening bowls  was a quiet time with only two games played in the 100-up.

Tuesday’s social bowls was a three -mat affair with two double mat winners. Coming out on top with 17 and 17 were; Doreen Pleming, Geraldine Monish, Dianne Fletcher, and Gus Sander. With the runners up on 15 and 16 being; Ken Pleming, Ruth Backhouse, Gwen Mills, and Peter Manning. 

There was no social bowls on Friday.
