The club was represented by Julie Underwood in the Masters Single Scull, Alex Shultz in the C Grade single, Eva Broad in the Cox, and Claire Macdonald, Emily Tidd, Bella Heagney and Liz Sandow in the D Grade Quad Scull.
The Quad was the first Corowa crew to race, starting from third position out of 7 crews in the starting order. Needing to get away strongly into the head wind, the Corowa Quad passed their first crew by the 1000 metre mark and settled into a strong rhythm. Keeping up with the crew who started first and rowing a controlled race, the crew closed the gap to finish with a time of 35 minutes 11 .17 seconds, placing them in second place overall and only 20 seconds behind the eventual winner.
Julie started well in the single in tough conditions for the scull, but persevered to row a strong race, finishing in second place in a time of 39 minutes flat.
Alex competing in the single for the first time over the longer race distance was pleased in his row with a time of 39 minutes 48.92 seconds, placing Alex in fifth place out of nine starters.
The club and rowers will focus on crew boats at training and working with the local school rowing programs.
