Midweek Pennant – Round 2
There were two teams playing at home. A1 went down by 1 shot in a very entertaining game, and B2 had a win against Corowa RSL. Unfortunately, A3 were beaten by YMGRC at Mulwala on extremely fast greens.
A1 lost to Benalla. 58 – 59, Ian Bilney 28-13, Col Hendren 12- 25, John White 18-21.
A3 lost to YMGRC 44 – 61. Steve Rodway 29-15, Bruce Corcoran 12-19, Graeme McIntosh 12-27.
B2 won against Corowa RSL at home. Maureen Hutson 25 -12, Ray McNulty 20-17.

Weekend Pennant – Round 3
A mixed bag of results over the weekend. The three games at home had to be called off due to the heat rule, but fortunately enough ends had been played to gain a result.
A1 journeyed to Wangaratta and were beaten by a much stronger side going down 90-63.
Col Hendren 24-19, Ian Lewis 13-25, John White 13-17, Ian Bilney 13-29.
A4 were home to Tungamah and had a win 65-58. Bruce Corcoran 20-13, Lorraine Carmody 8-18, Bill Docherty 18-19, Norm Carmody 19-8.
B2 hosted Chiltern at home and went down by two shots 37-39. Fred Robinson 13-9, Pam Tobias 14-11, Richard Keith 10-19.
B3 were also home to Beechworth and had a lost 27-19. Mike Shelley 6-16, Maureen Hutson 13-15, Denise Coman 8-18.
Further rounds of the Championship singles were played during the week and on Sunday.
In the Ladies, Sue Curtis defeated Jude Willett and Margaret Watson defeated Annette Norman. Sue and Margaret will play their final at a date to be decided. Ian Bilney defeated Steve Rodway, a couple more games are to be played in the Men’s Singles before the final.
Book the date – Sunday, December 13 will be the club’s Christmas party. The party will start at 4pm with a game of bowls followed by the Presentation of Awards for the 2019/20 season, finishing up with a light meal. Please add your name to the list in the Club House.
Corowa RSL Bowls
Another busy week of bowls has just been played. Thursday saw a semi-final ladies’ singles game between Janet Davis and Maree Jones, with Janet winning 25/20. It was a close game all the way with anyone being the winner, but Janet held her nerve and came out on top. Janet will now play the winner between Laurie Way and Anne Summerill. A men’s quarter final game between Ken Widdison and Tony Coughlin was also played, with Kenny winning 25/7.
Saturday Pennant saw three teams play away, A1’s to Wodonga, A4’s to Milawa and B3’s to Bright. B2’s played Yarrawonga at home.
A1’s had a close game with Wodonga, but lost 73/77:

A4’s had another fairly close game, but lost to Milawa 65/78:
J Walker (S), A Holmquest (3rd), T Townsend (2nd), J Huggins (L) 9/25 lost.
A Summerill (S), D Muir (3rd), P Smith (2nd), D Carroll (L) 15/21 lost.
P Summerill (S), D Lewis (3rd), R Nixon (2nd), J Huggins (L) 24/15 won.
B Warburton (S), L Davis (3rd), Thornton (2nd), T Hovard (L) 17/17 draw.
B2’s played host to Yarrawonga at home and went down by a very slim margin, 55/57:
T Coughlin (S), R Bourke (3rd), G Stephens (2nd), D McQueen (L) 17/21 lost.
A Jones (S), J Davis (3rd), L Mills (2nd), J Black (L) 22/12 won.
T Fierenzi (S), M Jones (3rd), J Holmquest (2nd), C Reilly (L) 16/24 lost.
B3’s travelled to Bright, where they had a very enjoyable day, ending up with a draw 55/55:
A Prentice (S), G Dormer (3rd), A Muir (2nd), L Ewison (L) 16/19 lost.
W Robb (S), N McPherson (3rd), R Ewison (2nd), R Fierenzi (L) 19/20 lost.
N Bathols (S), A Smith (3rd), K Paranihi (2nd), A Robb (L) 20/16 won.
On Sunday six of our club members played in the Novice event in Wodonga, Tony Townsend, Kelly Paranihi, Ross Ewison, Lynne Ewison, Josh Huggins and Greg. At the time of writing this article no results had been received. We congratulate them and hope they all had a great day.
On Saturday 19 December after pennant games, there will be a BBQ at the club rooms. The list is on the board for those interested in attending. The list for the club Christmas Party is also filling up fast.

Corowa Indoor Bowls
November 25
The winners on Sunday, November 15 with a win and a loss of 16 and 4 were Val O’Rourke, Sandra Dudziak, Glenda Willett, and Jan W Webber. The runners up on two draws and 19 being, Joe Wilson, Dot Roberts, and Anne Smith.
Tuesday winners with two wins of 15 and 16 were Doreen Pleming, Joe Wilson, and Judi Cummins. The runners up with a loss and a win of 4 and 18 were, Beryl Greaves, Anne King, and Marj Pratt.
And Friday’s only team with two winning ends of 16 and 15 were Sandra Dudziak, Jan W Webber, and Doreen Pleming. With the runners up on a win and a loss of 15 and 8 being, Beryl Greaves, Bruce Ash, and Anne Smith.
