The Rutherglen Swimming Club will complete its 65th swim season next month and will hold a community event on March 14 to celebrate over six decades of talented young (and not so young) swimmers who have maintained a family friendly and community supportive club.

Through the years, the club has nurtured swimmers who have become regional, state and national competitors, as well as provided a fantastic environment encouraging swimming skills, fitness and life-long friendships.
The current season’s squad is sporting 40 competitive swimmers, with a significant number of young and enthusiastic members, who the club hope will continue the club’s traditions into the next 65 years.
The club would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who has history or interest in the club to come and join in on this special day.
The Rutherglen Swim Championships will be held in the morning from 9am -12pm, and the anniversary celebrations will begin at 2pm.
Festivities will include several guest speakers, afternoon tea and a gallery of photos and articles of the club’s history to share.
No doubt there will also be a rekindling of old friendships and a lot of laughs seeing the swimsuit fashion statements of yesteryear.
