On Saturday the Grand Final of all grades of Weekend Pennant took place.

There were five games played at Wangaratta and four at Wodonga.
It was a great sight to see there were four teams playing from Corowa.
Corowa Civic had one team in B2 and Corowa RSL had teams in A1, A4 and B2.
Civic came away winner against Corowa RSL in B2 and Corowa RSL won both A1 and A4, a great effort all round.
Congratulations Corowa RSL on winning the prestigious A1 division.
Corowa Civic B2 got away to a great start with all three rinks playing well.
As the game got over halfway Corowa RSL were fighting their way back.
Lance Davis and Janet Davis’s rinks were having great bowls being put down by their players.
Peter Howell’s rink played very well but went down right at the end by 2 shots.
Lance’s team were really on fire, winning by 23 shots and Janet’s team won by 5 shots.
A great effort by all, the first premiership win for most of the players in B2.
B2 Corowa Civic 67 defeated Corowa RSL 41
Lance Davis, Judy Willett, Keith Evans, Terry Shields 30-7.
Janet Davis, Col Hendren, Bruce Corcoran, Brendon Leach 21-16.
Peter Howell, Ann Climas, Shane Rosenow, Annette Norman 16-18.
Corowa Civic hosted the Preliminary final last Tuesday between Howlong and Tungamah in B2 division.
Howlong came away winners, defeating Tungamah by 22 shots.
Thank you to all who helped on the day, setting up the greens, score board attendants, bar people and indoor staff.
The Club Handicap Singles in both Men and Ladies played their first round on Sunday morning.
Margaret Watson had a win over Caroline Lewis, Guy Rowe defeated Shane Rosenow, Doug Castles defeated Peter King and Tony Larkin defeated Ian Lewis.
There will be more games played next Sunday.
Champion of Champions
On Sunday morning Michele Shields continued her game at Wangaratta in the Champion of Champions against Annie Corcoran after it was called off with very heavy rain last Sunday.
The score was 18 – 18 when the game was abandoned.
The game sea sawed between the two ladies, with Annie coming away with the win 25-23.
A great game Michele, congratulations on being Corowa Civic’s Lady Champion.
The last game of the Business House Fours will take place this Wednesday, March 4, with a couple of teams having won all their games so far.
Come along early from 5.30pm for a free sausage sizzle.

Social bowls will commence now that pennant has finished for the season.
The first game will be this Saturday, March 7, commencing at 10.00am.
Names are to be on the board at the back gate, or phone Col Hendren, no later than 9.15am.
Recycled Stubbies Day will be on Saturday, March 14.
Please add your name to the list in the clubhouse to play bowls and lunch, or just lunch.
Col Hendren is still taking entries for the Easter Tournament.
Good Friday will be Open Triples, Easter Saturday Open Pairs and Easter Sunday Open Triples.
Eileen Ide and Annette Norman are taking entries for the Ladies Open Fours Tournament to be held on May 6 and 7.
This tournament has proven to be a great event, with teams coming from far and wide.

Midweek Pennant Preliminary Finals
Corowa RSL Division A3 travelled to Wodonga to play Rutherglen.
Corowa RSL defeated Rutherglen by ten shots to advance to Tuesdays grand final against Commercial Albury.
Corowa RSL entered seven Divisions in Pennant this 2025-26 Ovens and Murray District Pennant.
To have five teams out of seven in grand finals is huge.

Weekend Pennant Finals
Corowa RSL Bowls Division A1 defeated Rutherglen in the grand final at Wangaratta on February 28.
Corowa RSL finished the season in second position behind Wodonga.
Semi Final
Corowa defeated Wodonga 86/84 for a 2025-26 grand final Match.
Elimination Final
Rutherglen defeated YMGCR 84/75.
Preliminary Final
Rutherglen defeated Wodonga 90/50 for a grand final match against Corowa RSL Bowls Club.
Wodonga were hoping for their twenty eighth grand final win and Rutherglen hadn't played an A1 Division grand final since 1971-72.
The grand final was live streamed at Wangaratta Bowls Club.

Corowa RSL had three Weekend Pennant Teams in grand finals.
Division A4
Division A4, who played the top side North Albury, won their Grand final 85/78 resulting in a Grand final win to Corowa RSL Bowls.
Division B2 were undefeated all season but lost to Corowa Civic Bowls.
Special congratulations to President Shawn McMachon and Coach Chris Cooney.
To have three teams in grand finals, all playing at the one venue was amazing, it was great to have Rutherglen and Civic at Wangaratta as well.

Corowa Indoor Carpet Bowls
Sunday morning saw wins in the club triples for Merylyn Milthorpe, Glenda Willett, Gloria McCluskey, and Joan Adams, Angela Clapton, Greg Williamson.
Afternoon social winners on 16 and 18 (34) were Gwen Mills, Glenda Willett, and Jan Webber, with runners-up on 16 and 14 (30) being Betty Clancy, Kerry Whalley, Margaret Watson, and Doreen Pleming.
Tuesday's winners on 16 and 17 (33) were Joan Catlin, Glenda Willett, and Greg Williamson, with the runners-up on 16 and 16 (32) the team of Gloria McCluskey, Joe Carnivale, and Sylvia Williamson.
Thursday's winners on 17 and 17 (34) were Doreen Pleming, Margaret Watson, and Merylyn Milthorpe, with the runners-up on 14 and 17 being Glenda Willett, and Jan Webber.
