Social Bowls
There were 12 players at social bowls last Wednesday playing two games of triples.

The winning team was made up of Tim Buggy, Tony Coughlin and Ken Widdison.
Saturday Mini-Pennant
Rounds 5 and 6 of the sets play “mini-pennant” were played in overcast conditions last Saturday. There are currently three teams with 15 match points. K Dog and his Pups are on top with 15 match points, 10 set points and 54 shots up. A King and his Queensare in second spot with 15 match points, 10 set points and 40 shots up. Jan Fisher’s team is in 3rd position also with 15 match points and Dazzlyngaz is in 4th spot, with 12 match points.
The last two rounds will be played next Saturday, followed by presentations to the winners and second place getters.
The Saturday Jackpot Pairs competition will begin on May 18 and run through to the end of August.
Big Cuppa Day
This will happen this Wednesday, May 8, in conjunction with social bowls. Players and spectators are welcome.
Annual General Meeting and Presentation of Trophies
The AGM was held last Sunday in Ms Birdies Room at Club Corowa. Office holders for the coming season are:
President – Ray McLarty; Vice-President – Greg Keyte; Secretary – Lynne Ewison; Treasurer – Ross Ewison; The Committee consists of – Tony Coughlin, Susie Swift, Jordan Thornton, Tim Buggy and Keith Mills.
Barry Warburton was presented with his Super-Veteran’s badge by outgoing President, Keith Mills.
The meeting was followed by presentation of trophies to all winners and runners-up of the Club Championships. Another special presentation was to popular member, Roly Nixon, the “quiet achiever” on the men’s trip away.
Local Tournament Results
Club member Scott Widdison, teamed up with Jason King and Josh Rudd to win the Wodonga Autumn Tournament recently. They won all seven games, not an easy feat, to take the winner’s purse.
Corowa Indoor Bowls
Sunday morning saw a 13/10 win for Nez Carnivale, Joe Carnivale, and Tony Coppolino in the club’s mixed triples final. Well done, lads.
Sunday social winners on Sunday on 15and 14 (29) were Gloria McCluskey, Doreen Pleming, and Anne Smith. With the runners-up on 17 and 5 (22) being the team of Lesley Crough, Ellen Buckley, and Merylyn Milthorpe.
Tuesday’s winners on 15 and 17 (32) were Joe Wilson, Kerry Whalley, and Ellen Buckley. With the runners-up on 5 and 17 (22) being the team of Georgie Agnew, Peter Manning, Joan Catlin, and Glenda Willett.
And Thursday’s winners on 17 and 17 (34) were Ian Day, Betty Clancy, Glenda Willett, and Angela Clapton. With the runners-up on 17 and 4 (21) being Georgie Agnew, Ellen Buckley, and Peter Manning.
Corowa Civic Bowls Club
The Corowa Chocolate and Whisky Factory Ladies 4’s two-day tournament was held on Wednesday and Thursday, May 1 and 2.
The weather was just lovely couldn’t get better if we tried.
There were 24 teams taking part from parts of Victoria and southern NSW.
The greens were running very well, thanks to our Green Keeper Andy.
The winners with 6 wins + 59 up were – Tricia O’Shea, Pam Hunter, Lorraine Rowley and Val White from Castlemaine/Sth Bendigo.
R/up – 4 wins + 49 were Kerry Ralph, Sue Middleton, Jan Hermisson and Caroline Reilly from Tungamah/Yarrawonga.
3rd – 4 wins + 27 were Carmen Spiteri, Sandy Popple, Marie Taylor and Heather Anderson from Whittlesea.
4th – 4 wins + 20 were Jeanette Tuckwell, Shirley Geddes, Di Ronan and Jodie Cooper from Nth Albury.
Best Game Day winners – Anne Miles, Laureen Smith, Robyn Forge and Claire Sanders from YMGCR – Glenice Campbell, Nancy Duursma, Jenny Flannery and Merilyn Milthorpe from Rutherglen.
A big thanks you to all our helpers especially the catering department and bar staff plus the Match Committee of Col Hendren, Sue Curtis, Eileen Ide and Margaret Watson for organising a great event.
