Mansfield and Benalla gymnasts participated in a three-day, intensive gymnastics camp during the September school holidays.
The gymnasts enjoyed movement skills and completed circuits that worked on elements of rolling, cartwheels and backwards-roll, as well as working through targeted skills on the beam, bars and vault.
An extra challenge was working on a group floor routine, the first time most of the junior gymnasts had coordinated a routine to music.
Having senior gymnasts in the gym over this period inspired the junior gymnasts with their training and gymnastics ability.
The Benalla Gymnastics Club has been closed since the last COVID-19 lockdown, and it was good to have young and senior gymnasts working in the facility.
The Benalla Gymnastics Club will reopen for weekly training sessions on Monday, October 9:
Kindergarten — 2.15pm to 2.45pm;
Recreational class — 4.15pm-5.15pm; and
Levels and senior gymnasts — 4.15pm-6.15pm.
The club hopes to have more training times on offer for 2024.
