The girls fought hard with some great passages of play.
We welcomed back Savannah Wilson and Laura Walliss who were an integral part of our defensive end.
The girls didn’t make it easy for Katunga to come away with the win, and I’m proud of the efforts that every single player put into the game.
We have a few things to focus on with such a new side and have had different players each week, but I’m excited to see what the girls will continue to bring to the court each game.
We have had an unsteady start to the season, with the fixture giving us two byes straight up, so it was nice to have a good hit out against a very well-put-together team.
Credit to the Katunga girls; it was a pleasure to play against them.

C-grade: Berrigan 27 def by Katunga 73.
After a week off, the Saints worked hard to come up against such a strong side in Katunga.
In a very defensive game, the defenders were tested repeatedly and kept rising to the challenge.
With many new faces this year, C-grade is still finding their footing and dynamics, and it was great to see players shifting into different positions.
The girls held their heads high the entire game, and the score definitely did not reflect the game.

C-reserve: Berrigan 18 def by Katunga 36.
After three weeks off, C-res were excited for the hit-off against Katunga.
With that in mind, we found our groove in the second quarter and won the third quarter.
Unfortunately, Katunga already had a strong lead in the first quarter, which helped them get away with the win.
There were so many positives to come from the game, including consistent defensive pressure and great ring work by the attackers.
We all look forward to consistent games from here on out to focus on our teamwork and gameplay.

Under-17s: Berrigan 20 def by Katunga 38.
It was a disappointing result for the under-17s on Saturday.
The girls worked so hard, but unfortunately, they got off to a slow start that helped Katunga move ahead early.
As always, the girls kept their heads held high and didn’t give up despite some challenges on the court.
Once again, they did everything that was asked of them, and it is always a pleasure to watch them play.

It was a tough day out for the Saints.
The girls had some excellent passages of play and did not stop working hard the entire game.
Despite the score, there were many positives on the court and a great attitude toward netball.
Well done to our award winners who gave everything they could and did everything that was asked of them.

Under-11s: Not scored.
It was a tough day on the court against the tall timber of Katunga, but the junior Saints did not give up.
