Big Easter tennis field

“So far we have 120 entries,” Corowa Tennis Club President Greg Filliponi told The Free Press. “People love the fact that it’s a round robin format and get to play four sets a day.”

Most players are from Melbourne. “About 80 per cent are from Melbourne and 20 per cent locally,” the president said. “Many are return players – they just love Corowa.”

The four synthetic and four grass courts look in tip top shape for the big tournament. “I thank our volunteers. They’ve done a huge job, assisted early in the piece by Warwick Henderson when he was at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort.”

Visitors are welcome to come down and watch the action in the picturesque surrounds. There will be a barbecue luncheon, morning and afternoon tea.
