Redeye’s seniors head coach Adrian Timmis said the lessons from the weekend’s efforts against Tocumwal were clear.
“They (the side) were keen for a win and we weren’t up to it. It’s as simple as that,” he said.
A highlight of the game for the Redeyes’ was the coach’s three goals.
“I’m glad I can still be out there and it wasn’t bad for how I’m going, but it probably should be the rest of my boys kicking goals,” he said.
This weekend, the Redeyes take on the undefeated Strathmerton, which Timmis said is another strong opponent.
The main area the Redeyes will be focusing on this week, Timmis said, is their fundamental skills to add to the the head coach’s theme of respect within the seniors football team.
“We’ve been testing ourselves against pretty good sides for the last couple weeks now.
“Basic skill errors are our biggest thing to improve on.
“It’s a matter of respecting ourselves as footballers, and getting the basic skills right should make a difference.
“We’ll chip away at it each week, which is the biggest thing.”
