Another great day for sport at Barkly Park as we hosted Dederang Mount Beauty.
After a couple of tough weeks, we were faced with a great opportunity, but also the unknown in what Dederang would throw at us.
The team was rearranged a bit from the week before and Cats responded well.
We welcomed Archer Colvin from our U17s team for his first seniors’ game and he proved he was up for the challenge.
The back line was working well, and we had a pleasing array of goal kickers in the end running out 120-point winners. Great team effort.

Another week and another good win by the Under 17s. This young group is really starting to take big strides in developing as a team.
Bolstered now with new recruits Oliver Corbally-Stourton, Riley Cosgrove and Ethan Hales and supported this week by Jaxson Bolger and Noah McSweeney saw the boys take a 114-point victory over Dederang-Mt Beauty.
With the little maestro, Harry Chandler setting the tone for the day with 6 first half goals, the team were well placed at half time.
Logan Poole’s welcome back to form with three goals, provided a strong lead allowing an opportunity for position changes, resulting in first goals for the year to Aidan Berriman, Ari Pinn and Lukas Moore.
Mitch Francis contributed to the total with two goals, Aidan Berriman two goals, Jaxson Bulger two goals and one a piece to Laiton Hetherington, Lukas Moore, Ari Pinn and Flynn Verhulst.
It was a great team effort, with the back line held up by captain Fred Jackson and well supported by the back line players.

Our Under 14 Cats were back in action at home, this week facing the Dederang Mt Beauty Bombers.
Dustin Fisher continued his dominant season through the centre, along with Arthur Morris who was one of the best on ground. Aiden Sibraa was strong in attack with a 3-goal haul and was well supported by Ben Pagan Saunders who slotted home 2 majors.
Elijah McFarlane was relentless across the half back line cleaning up attacks from Dederang and earning himself the title of “the mop”. Big Moose McInnes showed he could hold down the ruck, taking over the duties in the second half.
Jax Ramsey earned the biggest smile of the day slotting his first goal of the season after some hard work up forward.
We would like to congratulate Dustin Fisher, Aaron Lewis-Carmichael, Hugo Poole, and Aiden Sibraa who were selected in the TDFL Interleague team.
Dusty was proud to be named Co-Captain of the side. Congratulations to our players who represented Rutherglen, a great recognition of their hard work and good form this season.
Next week we take on a similarly undefeated side - Wodonga who sit at the top of the ladder. Please get along to Wodonga and provide some support for our young Cats who face their biggest test to date.
