Under 12s ~ Preliminary Final
Cats 5.5.35 def Thurgoona Bulldogs 0.3.3
For the final match of the season for the youngest Cats, club members travelled to the MCG of the Bush, Sandy Creek, to take on the fourth placed Thurgoona in what would be a tough game as they had played each other twice throughout the season with one win each.
After a solid week on the training track the young Cats were ready to fire, and after a tight first few minutes the Cats would kick the first goal of the game through full forward Brax Jennings.
The midfield started to get on top with Cody O’Donoghue kicking another goal from some great team play.
The half backline consisting of Jimmy Nicholson, Jenson McInnes and Sammy Lewis were sensational rebounding Thurgoona’s efforts to enter the forward line.
Pat McMillan kicked the first goal of his career while Toby Douglas and Nick Hudson were also in everything.
The young Cats eventually running out comfortable winners in a great team win which capped off an enjoyable and successful season.
