The club is saddened to announce that former Corowa RSL club bowler Alan Bratt passed away early this week after a long illness. Alan was a respected O&M bowler, representing O&M against other regions. He also played A1 bowls for Wodonga, Rutherglen, YMGCR, and Corowa Bowling Club.
The club offers deep sympathy to Colleen and Alan’s remaining family.
O&M Regional Finals
Following on from her participation in the O&M Challenge Match two weeks ago, Maree Jones, a member of Corowa RSL Bowls Club, spent this last weekend at Echuca/Moama as official Emergency team member of the O&M for the women's regional finals. Although Maree wasn’t needed to fill in, she was part of the team and staunchly supported the girls in very cold conditions right through to their final victory. Well done Maree for having been selected as a part of the team.
Pennant Reminder
A reminder that name-sheets are up at the clubhouse for those intending to play Midweek and/or Weekend pennant this coming season.
So that the club can accurately assess interest and submit proposed team numbers to O&M, all players are asked to put their names in asap (including beginners and new members who have an interest in playing).
Social Bowls results and reminders
Saturday Jackpot Pairs: Last Saturday the third un-drawn Jackpot in a row $228 has had to be carried over to this coming Saturday, so come along for an equal chance at the big draw, win or lose has equal chance. Enter as a single or make up a pair. Entries on the sheet at the club rooms before 12 noon on a Saturday. It’s advisable to enter early due to the rising popularity of this weekly winter event. Visitors are welcome and bowls can be loaned, just as for the summer Roller Bowlers program.
Wednesday Social results
Last week’s winners with 2 wins and 13 shots up were the team comprising Andy Dickins, Janet Davis and Tony Fierenzi. Runners up were Dave Lewis with Anne Smith and Pam Lee: good on you girls for giving Dave an armchair ride.
Wednesday social bowls starts at 1pm on Wednesdays and names are to be down to play by 12 noon.
