The A2 team played St James at home and had a convincing 28 shot win.
Adam Larkins, Rod Garthwaite, Andy Dickins and Allen Bartlett were down early but applied the pressure from the middle ends onwards to win 24 to 15.
Maree Jones, Keith Mills, Wayne Lee and Raz Porter were too strong for their opponents to win 36 to 17.
Tony Coughlin, Ketch, Kaz Hughes and Ken Widdison had the close game, with a 15-shot draw.
The B1 side played Moyhu at home and also had a resounding victory, up 29 shots.
Brian Houlihan, Darryl Brown, Gary Brown and Anne Summerill were even early, then scored 10 shots in 3 ends to grab the lead, winning 24 to 11.
Ken Mollinson, Susie Swift, Les Pilfoot and Bryan Gee led all the game and finished strongly to win 22 to 13.
Dom Carroll, Lex Thornton, Bev Pilfoot and Peter Summerill got off to a good start, and held on to it, winning 21 to 14.
Weekend Pennant
The A1 side played Benalla at home and won by 18 shots.
Ray McLarty, Troy Brockley, Allen Bartlett and Jordan Thornton had the hard game, losing 16 to 26.
Adam Larkins, Andy Dickins, Danny Webb and Scott Widdison had a comfortable win, 32 to 15.
Maree Jones, Rod Garthwaite, Wayne Lee and Shawn McMahon scored 13 shots to 1 in the last 10 ends, to win 24 to 21.
Keith Mills, Mark Brack, Ken Widdison and Stuart McNeill won 23 to 15.
The A4 side had the long trip to Mansfield and came home with an 18- shot win.
Tony Coughlin, Anne Summerill, Hayden Brockley and Peter Summerill lost 18 to 19.
Chris Reilly, Lynne Ewison, Darryl Brown and Raz Porter won 26 to 15.
Brian Houlihan, Lorraine Carmody, Gary Brown and Norm Carmody won 20 to 19.
Peter Smith, Susie Swift, Les Pilfoot and Ketch scored an eight in their 28 to 21 win.
The B2 travelled to Yarrawonga and won by 6 shots.
Ros Lewis, Dux MacQueen, Wendy Robb and Peter Mills lost 13 to 17, with Peter 6 down on the last end and drawing shot to save the match. Well done, Peter.
Jenny Lawrence, Anne Smith, Tony Fierenzi and Jeff Nixon won 21 to 16.
Liam Larkins, Wally Langton, Justin Robb and Greg Keyte also won 21 to 16.
The B3 side played Corowa Civic at home and had their first win for the season, in convincing fashion, by 39 shots.
Nate Jones, Alma Muir, Neville McPherson and Joan Wood lost 15 to 26.
Levi Phibbs, Archie Bedford, Robyn Fierenzi and Ross Ewison won 27 to 14.
Rosemary Baddeley, Gordon Nightingale, David Muir and Garry Neill only conceded 3 ends in their massive 42 to 5 win.
Thursday Rollers
We picked up a few extra players during the week which enabled 14 teams to compete
last Thursday. The winners were the Anglers team, Peter Tidd, Ringo Pickering and Cooper Pickering.
Club Championships
The Singles games are progressing, winners so far are: Scott Widdison defeated Justin Robb 25 to 10; Shawn McMahon defeated Tony Coughlin, 25 to 23; Ken Widdison defeated Ketch 25 to 23; Keith Mills defeated Brian Houlihan 25 to 12; Andy Dickins defeated Rod Garthwaite 25 to 23. Further second round games will be played this Sunday.
State Triples
This Ovens and Murray event was held at our greens on Sunday 5th November. Seven teams competed with the Yarrawonga team of Evelyn Calder to play the Wangaratta team of Jodie Freund next Sunday at 9.30 am in the final of the Ladies.
The Men’s finals will also be played at the RSL greens next Sunday, play commences at 9.30 and will continue throughout the day. It promises to be a display of top- class bowling. Spectators are welcome.
