The final round of mid-week pennant resulted in three wins for Corowa RSL.
The A2 side travelled to Benalla and had a 20- shot win. They play Wodonga in the qualifying final on February 20.
Adam Larkins, Rod Garthwaite, Raz Porter and Andy Dickins won 20-17.
Maree Jones, Ray McLarty Keith Mills and Brenton Ketchell won 24-21.
Judy Black, Daryl Brown, Wayne Lee and Ken Widdison won 26-12.
The B1 side had the short trip to Corowa Civic and won by 36 shots. They play Tungamah in next week’s qualifying final.
Dom Carroll, John Danaher, Bev Pilfoot and Peter Summerill won 22-18.
Brian Houlihan, Tony Coughlin, Gary Brown and Anne Summerill won 17-15.
Lex Thornton, Susie Swift, Bryan Gee and Les Pilfoot won 37-7.
The B2 side played Wodonga at home and lost by 11 shots. They ended up in 5th spot, just out of the four.
Greg Keyte, Anne Smith, Norm Carmody and Alan Holmquest lost 12-18.
Lynne Ewison, Rosemary Baddeley, David Lewis and John Creighton lost 19-20.
Gary Turner, Rhonda Clark, Peter Smith and Laurie Way lost 11-15.
The B3 also played at home and were excited to have their first win of the season, defeating Wodonga by 11 shots.
Janet Mills, Roseann Prentice, Tim Buggy and Ross Ewison won 24-11.
Dux MacQueen, Jenny Lawrence, Wendy Robb and Julie Holmquest lost 13-15.
Kellie-Anne Briggs, Pam Lee, Ros Lewis and Joan Wood drew 13 all.
Weekend Pennant Results Feb 17
The A1, A4 and B2 sides all played elimination finals. One side was victorious, but the other two went down, and their season is over.
The A1 side played Myrtleford at Rutherglen and had an 11- shot win; they play YMGCR in next week’s preliminary final at Rutherglen.

The A4 side played Rutherglen at YMGCR and had a close game, going down by 7 shots.

Tony Coughlin, Justin Robb, Keith Mills and Brenton Ketchell won 17-11.

Champion of Champion Singles
The Ovens and Murray knockout stage of this worldwide competition was played at Wangaratta on Sunday, February 18. Our representatives were Anne Summerill and Ken Widdison.
Both received first-round byes. In the second round, Ken was drawn to play Chris Langdon of Rutherglen. Ken got off to a good start, but Chris found the line and length of the green and came away with the win, 25-21.
Anne’s opponent in the second round was Kylie Whitehead of Wodonga. Kylie is a former world champion in this event and also plays in the Australian Development side; a tough opponent. Anne lost 11-25.
Thursday Night Rollers
All new and casual bowlers are welcome to join Corowa RSL Bowls Club for Barefoot Bowls from 6pm each Thursday. All equipment is supplied and there is no charge.
