A sunny day created the Roos as we headed to Albury to take on St Pats on Saturday.
A ferociously quick first quarter seen the Roos boys on the back foot with the intensity of the St Pats team taking the team by surprise, seeing them slot through 5 first quarter goals.
Slick play late in the quarter seen both Taj and Justin kick 2 majors late to keep the Roos in touch.
The start of the second quarter seen the Roos come out hard with 2 goals to Ethan and another strong lead and goal by Justin seeing the boys close the gap.
The Roos boys faded a little late in the quarter to see the St Pat’s team kick two late goals maintaining a healthy gap against the Roos. The workload of half the team playing multiple games over the weekend starting to show with the half time break a welcome relief for the team.
A genuine arm wrestle in the third quarter seen neither side able to close or extend the gap but another late goal to Justin seen the boys come in at 3 quarter time with high hopes.
The start of the last quarter saw the Roos come out full of fire led by Ethan who seemed to have the ball on a string with two quick goals giving the supporters confidence that the Roos were closing in on their first win.
A controversial unpaid marked deep in the Roos forward line to a flying Ethan seemed to sap the energy from the team and spark the St Pats boys into action with 6 last quarter goals against an obviously tiring Roos team putting the game beyond doubt.

It was a beautiful sunny day in Albury for a great day of footy against St Pat’s.
Lucas Tafft was jumping really well, and Jay Lavis was on fire in the centre. Tex Longmire and Isaac Dickinson were leading well in the forward line. Tex kicking 2 great goals in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw a very close scoreboard and a very hard-fought game was ahead with St Pat’s scoring quickly and Ethan Lane, Noah McSweeney and Benji Hanrahan really having to stand up in the back line.
The third quarter was a close quarter and saw a lot of movement of the ball to both ends of the ground. Hunter Hall kicked the first goal, then Isaac another later in the quarter.
The last quarter saw both sides starting well yet our boys finished strongly with Tex and Isaac kicking a couple of good goals and then Zac Arnold kicking a ripper to finish it off.

A sunny Sunday morning greeted the boys as they took to the field against St Pats.
There was a genuine eagerness in the warmup which was quickly rewarded with an early goals to Joe Lavis, Rhylee Barber and Franklin Murray-Wright, the latter two kicking multiple goals in the first term.
The forward pressure was utterly relentless as the boys restricted their opposition from leaving their own half, finishing the quarter with six goals, four behinds and a 40-point lead.
The second term looked much the same as Emmet Northey and Hayden Moore pushed the ball through the St Pats centre, both being rewarded with goals.
Fantastic pressure from Ajay Heagney and Brodie White helped to create more opportunities and Lachie Douglas put his head over the ball and his shoulders into the opposition, making some strong tackles in the forward pocket. At half-time, the lead was out to 72-0.
Some positional changes from coach Patto in the second half provided some opportunities for the boys to stretch themselves. Cohen didn’t waste his opportunity in the forward line, slotting a pair of spectacular goals off his booming left foot, including a cheeky snap from the boundary line.
Levi Arnold was strong over the ball and Hudson Bilney looked to stretch his legs down the wing, providing clean ball for the boys at the front. Goals to Hayden Moore, Franklin Murray-Wright and Cooper Patton rounded out another strong quarter.
The young Roos tackled the final quarter with a lead of 105 points. Rippon Buller showed fantastic strength at the front, shrugging off tackles and feeding the ball to his fellow forwards. The foot remained firmly on the accelerator as the boys looked to stretch their lead.
A pair of goals to Cooper Patton, as well as maximums for Toby Hanrahan and Lachie Ireland, allowed the boys to round out an extremely strong performance.
Final score 20-1-130 to Nil.
