Three Rochester girls were part of Goulburn Murray Cricket’s girls under-14 team which qualified for the final of the Northern Rivers Junior Country Week carnival.
Imogen Kath scored 49 runs, while Hayley Broucek and Cadence Major were also in the squad that won the opening match against Murray Valley by eight wickets and beat Bendigo by five wickets in round three.
Bamawm Lockington United star Sohpie Good produced the highlight of the carnival when she claimed five wickets in the final against Gisborne.
Gisborne still managed 8-166 from its 40 overs and GM was all out for 52 in reply.

- At under-13 level Asher Rasmussen scored 37 runs, Judd Cuttriss 27 and Harry Rasmussen also claimed a wicket in the tournament.
Ben Hewes took two wickets for the under-14 team and Cale James one, while at under-15 level BLU’s Cade Pearse, Blake Gibson and Lucas Holgate were the three major run-scorers.
Matt Harrington performed well at under-16 level, as did Liam Edge (two wickets) and Maddison Pearse played a role with bat and ball for the girls’ under-17 team.
