Deniliquin High School’s head of football, Tom Edwards, said the game saw the Riverina Murray Greys 7. 8 (50) defeat the Riverina South West Turkeys 4.2 (26).
“The boys played for Riverina Murray, and their team went undefeated throughout the championships in Broken Hill.”
Edwards said the feedback from the tournament convenors was overwhelmingly positive.
“The CHS convenor said all the Deniliquin boys played really well and were a great representation of football from Deni.”
Chase was announced as a co-captain of the side and won the Riverina Murray Best Player medal for the winning side.
After the performance, two Deniliquin players were selected for higher-level representative selection.
“Isaac Behsman and Chase Bartlett have been selected to play at the next level, which is coming up soon,” Edwards said.
“The state CHS team of 22 will play against Catholic and independent school teams.”
The state sides are scheduled to play at the All Schools Championships in Albury on Monday, June 3 and Tuesday, June 4.
