The Rovers’ fourths, thirds and senior football teams all finished the season in fifth, and play the eighth placed sides in their respective competitions.
The fourths start the day off against Strathmerton at 9.15am, then the thirds play against Katandra at 10.25am, before the seniors play at 2.05pm against Jerilderie.
All teams will be looking to win tomorrow's games to progress to the semi finals against the losers of next week’s qualifying finals between first and fourth place.
After missing out on finals last year by percentage, the seniors have been looking to build into good form, searching for finals success.
Following three losses in a row between rounds 12 and 14, the Rovers have built a four game win streak, albeit against teams that have finished between 11 and 15 on the ladder.
This included last weekend’s 158 points win away from home against the 14th placed Blighty side.
Rovers senior football coach Alex Hay said the game against Blighty was good preparation for his side’s match this week, but maybe wasn’t as straightforward as the scoreboard suggested.
“The win on the weekend was another solid performance, and pleasing to continue the form of recent weeks,” he said.
“You could look at it as another game that presented different challenges.
“Although the score would suggest a comfortable win, there were patches where we really had to wrestle some momentum back.
“We knew it would be a physical encounter, which won’t be too dissimilar to how Jerilderie will approach the game on the weekend.
“From that standpoint, it was good to be able to get the ball into some space, which is where we had a slight advantage.”
The last time the Rovers and Jerilderie met this season was in round four.
The Rovers won away from home by 53 points, but both teams have had line-up changes since that match in April.
Hay said his team is well suited for finals football, but can’t go into tomorrow’s game expecting the same Jerilderie line-up from earlier in the year.
“Elimination finals leave you with nowhere to hide.
“It’s win or go home, which in the last 18 months I feel like there have been opportunities for us to emulate that kind of pressure situation, and we’ve responded.
“Both sides have had some changes for better or worse since the start of the year, but we are starting to have some continuity with our line-up which, I think, has correlated with our form trending up.
“We’ve added some finals experience and those who have played in big games, which makes a difference come this time of year.”
