Talented seven-year-old swimmer Ethan Teh Macpherson recorded a Personal Best (PB) of 40.96s in the 8-year-old 50m freestyle at the NSWPSSA Championships last Thursday.
After the four heats, the Corowa St Mary’s Primary School student’s performance has resulted in his ranking of 20 of the 39 swimmers in the state event rising seven places to 13 in NSW.
Ethan was representing MacKillop Swim Team at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC). His latest swim shaved two seconds off his previous week’s performance in the MacKillop Championships.
Unfortunately, Ethan’s terrific swim missed the final by 0.86 of a second but he can take a lot away from his impressive performance.
Rutherglen Swimming Club head coach Hayley Barkley flew to Sydney to surprise and support Ethan who was over the moon about the visit.
