It has been an impressive inaugural season of female football at the Corowa Rutherglen Football Netball Club, with all four grades successfully making it through to the North East and Border Female Football League finals.
The club has been notified that three Open Women’s team players have finished in the top 10 for the league’s best and fairest. Hannah Loughnan, Kaitlyn Robinson and Jerrah Caruso will receive an invitation to attend the league’s presentation evening held at the Commercial Club, Albury on Friday, August 29.
The club will celebrate their season with a presentation night at Club Corowa, on Friday, September 19.

From the first bounce, Lavington proved too strong for the young Roos in their preliminary final.
The Panthers piled on eight goals by halftime, but to the young Roos' credit, they held them goalless in the second half.
Isabelle Haberfield and Marli Upton collected plenty of the ball throughout the midfield, while Isabelle Gardiner played another solid game down back.
The Under 14s have grown as a team throughout the season, winning eight of their 12 home and away games, and will look forward to more improvement in 2026.
The Open Women's team came out firing in their preliminary final against Wodonga Raiders, kicking the first goal and leading at quarter time.
The Roos’ momentum was somewhat dented when key backliner Kaitlyn Robinson sustained an ankle injury in the first quarter.
Wodonga Raiders came out determined after the first quarter, and with a few late goals, they had racked up a 13-point lead going into the halftime break.
Despite the efforts of midfielders Layla Haberfield, Jerrah Caruso and Hannah Loughnan, the Roos could not convert from their forward entries.
The Raiders’ backline continually found a way to drive the ball into their forward half putting pressure on the Roos’ structure.
Jazmine Holdsworth was a standout in the backline alongside Emily Robinson, keeping the Roos within reach.
But despite the Roos' determination, the Raiders were too strong, overcoming Corowa Rutherglen with a more structured brand of finals football to win by 38 points.
