Rennie 48 def by Jerilderie 51
Coming into last weekend’s game, the stats indicated that it was going to be anyone's game.
The Rennie Under 17 girls were feeling a little bit flat after a late adjustment to the lineup, as Charlotte Burrows was ruled out with illness.
Nevertheless, the side showed up to the game with smiles and warmed up like we always do - with intention and determination.
The first half proved neck and neck with goals going both ways, and hard-fought contests.
With minimal changes from the Rennie girls and many changes made by Jerilderie, the Rennie Under 17s managed to take the lead.
Sam Knight and Tess Bassett turned it on in the third quarter, which allowed goalers Mabel Cope and Ella Lewis to prove how practice does make perfect.
The duo capitalised in-front of the ring, which allowed for the side to have a small lead going into the fourth quarter.
Under 17 Ella Lewis proved practice makes perfect in a solid attacking performance.

The Rennie girls were holding strong with a lead of two-three goals up until the last five minutes, when Jerilderie made use of Rennie’s errors and were able to execute.
Despite the efforts of all the girls, they couldn’t create the comeback. As the final whistle blew, the girls knew it was game over and their season had come to an end.
With a team of 12, and only one top age player, the girls should hold their heads high for all they have achieved this season.
As one team, they have faced injury, illness, a pregnant coach and the usual high school emotions, the side faced everything with grace, sportsmanship and fortitude.
Be proud girls, and come back next season to push the finals campaign further.

Her strong drives helped bring the ball out of defence.
Ava Styles kept a level head at goal shooter and played a smart game.
She put her shots up and played real team game in the attacking end.
Ella Wilson was once again strong in defence, gaining multiple intercepts and applying constant pressure on Deni’s attackers.
She also lead by example and always encouraged her teammates.
Coaches Laynee and Haylee are very proud of the Under 13 girls season, and match last weekend.
The side have all improved out of sight and have been a pleasure to coach.
Thanks again to all the parents and supports for season 2025, it couldn’t have been done without you.
