The Roos were without their usual shooter so mixed things up a little.
The team played a more relaxed style after three big games to start the season. A few errors were made by Corowa, but the Roos’ formidable defenders and mid court pressure kept winning ball back when needed.
Awards: Lou Madden (Player’s Player & MVP) – who banked 45 of our 60 goals. Sommers Hogan (Coach’s Award) – went to young gun Sommers Hogan who plays 17s and debuted in A grade this week. Well done Sommy. Leah Keating (Ladies Committee) – went to Buzzbox - Leah - who played a very disciplined and effective pressure game in WD and finished in WA.

B Grade’s Lisa French plans her next move.
A convincing 31 goal win for our B Grade this week against Albury Tigers. It’s an exciting time to be a B Grader this year, with so much potential and depth within the line-up of this team.
Awards: Kelsea Bullivant (Club 1) – who was a weapon in the midcourt, grabbing multiple intercepts across the game and showing great patience and precision in attack.
Remy Longmire (Essential Beauty) – applied some serious pressure in WD stepping up to meet her player and dictating space to force errors.
Audrey Hogan (Ladies Committee) – who kept her footwork tight and worked her angles to maintain vision of both ball and player. Her long reach over the ball forced some missed shots from the Tigers shooters.
Jade Lane (MVP) – she was a menace in defence staying within arms-reach of her opponent constantly causing several errors in the Tigers attack end.
A special mention this week went to Lisa French who was relentless in finishing off the shot to convert the ball that the defenders turned over. She was a powerhouse owning the goal circle and cleverly setting up her space with some incredible patience on her holds and dominated the rebounding contest all game. She finished with an instrumental 44 of our 54 goals for the day.
C Grade

C Grade’s Sophie Kennedy and Niamh Lavis in goals.
A slow start to the game but the Roo girls found their momentum with good defence over the court.
In the second quarter the Roos unfortunately lost two players both to ankle injuries and this left the team with only one on the bench for the remainder of the game.
