This special event invites children aged 7–12 and women of all abilities to take part in a friendly and supportive triathlon experience.
It’s not about being the fastest or having the fanciest gear — it’s about getting involved, giving it a go, and enjoying the incredible atmosphere that comes when a community comes together to move, laugh, and cheer.
For the kids, the triathlon offers a fantastic introduction to sport. With a short swim, a manageable bike ride, and a fun run to the finish line, the focus is firmly on participation and enjoyment.
There’s no need for fancy gear or prior experience — just enthusiasm and a sense of adventure.
Participants will swim, cycle, and run through a carefully planned course that’s tailored to their age and ability. Friendly marshals will be on hand every step of the way to encourage, guide, and cheer on each competitor.
Every young athlete will receive a medal for finishing — a well-deserved reward for their effort and determination.
The women’s event is designed with inclusivity in mind; you don’t need Lycra, carbon bikes, and there is no pressure.
Forget the pressure of competition — this triathlon is all about giving it a go. Whether you’re a first-timer or simply looking for a fun way to stay active, this event is designed to make triathlon accessible to everyone.
Whether you’re taking on your first triathlon or returning for another go, the supportive environment created by the Border Triathlon Squad makes it the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself and have fun doing it.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Rutherglen, participants will run, cycle, and swim through a welcoming course tailored for enjoyment rather than endurance.
The distances are manageable, the atmosphere is relaxed, and encouragement will be in plentiful supply thanks to the friendly Border Triathlon Squad volunteers who’ll be there to guide and cheer every step of the way.
There will be medals for first, second and third place for age group categories for those that may have a competitive edge.
Whether you come alone, with friends, or as part of a workplace group, you’ll find a welcoming community of women who are there to support one another.
But it’s not just for the participants — spectators are warmly encouraged to come along.
Bring your family, friends, and neighbours to cheer from the sidelines and soak up the excitement.
The buzz of the crowd, the music from the DJ, the BBQ from the Rutherglen Rotary Club, the smiles of finishers, and the sense of achievement in the air make it an event worth witnessing.
Events like this showcase what community sport is all about: inclusivity, encouragement, and the simple joy of being active together.
So come and join the fun — whether you’re racing, cheering, or simply soaking up the atmosphere.
