Spring is in the air, and there have been some glorious conditions for golf over the past week with warmer temperatures expected to continue over coming days.

The course is in immaculate condition, and this has led to some good scoring.
On Thursday, Saturday and Wednesday at least 40 points was needed to win each grade.
Saturday’s A-grade winner was Matthew Pussell with 42 from runner-up Barry Barlow on 38; B-grade winner Jayne Hood with 41 from runner-up Gary Stephens on 40, and C-grade winner Bev Purtill with 45 points from runner-up Travis Beames on 39.
Last Thursday was stableford and the best score was recorded by Jane Glowrey with 42 points from runner-up Kerry Guille on 40.
In the Friday 9 hole veterans’ competition the winner was Graeme Butcher with 17 points from runner-up Wayne Hodgson on 16.
Anyone who wants to participate in this fun competition is encouraged to attend at the club on Friday mornings, with tee off from 8am. See John Penna for more information.
On Tuesday, the 9 hole competition was front 9, 2/3 person ambrose.
Winners were Esther Bolton, Leanne Landy and Bev Purtill 32, from runners-up Pat Fogarty, Kerry Bodey and Sarah Young 35.
There was a big field with a visiting group and local golfers for Wednesday’s medley stableford, with three grades.
A-grade winner was Neville Werner with 40 points on countback from Gary Stephens, who could be considered a bit unlucky to have consecutive rounds of 40 points and have to settle for the runners-up prize on both occasions.
B-grade winner was Kevin Greaves with 43 points from runner-up Wayne Pitts on 38, and C-grade winner Rivah Taylor with 40 points from runner-up Bob Landy on 38.
Coming up, tomorrow is fourball stableford followed on Sunday by the Golf NSW Junior Open.
Tuesday is back 9 gold tees stableford, Wednesday is medley stableford, Thursday is stroke monthly medal and medal of medals, Friday is 9 hole veterans comp from 8am and Saturday is medley stroke for men’s monthly medal and medal of medals.
Entries are open for the 2026 Veterans’ Week of Golf, to be held from October 12.
Veterans from near and far are expected to join local golfers for this event.
It will start with a fourball best ball on Monday, October 12, followed by 18 hole stableford events on the Tuesday and Thursday.
The week will culminate with NSW VGA Trophy Day on Friday, October 16.

The bistro continues to be open from Wednesday to Sunday, lunch and dinner, offering quality meals at a reasonable price.
Friday Night Fun is on again tonight, with happy hour from 6pm, and raffle tickets are on sale from 6pm with draws from 7pm.
