Hatton a Renegades recruit

Corowa Cricket coach Jarryd Hatton could fulfill a childhood dream of playing at the highest level after making the final six players in a unique “The Apprentice” style reality television show with the Big Bash T20 team Melbourne Renegades.

Hundreds of cricketers were nominated from around Victoria for the reality show with left-arm paceman Hatton successfully making the final ten.

The two-part television production started on Monday night with Hatton making it through to the final stage of six players after four were initially eliminated.

The second episode will air this Thursday night with the winner to be announced next Tuesday, August 3 with an online public voting during the program to decide the winner.

If successful next week Hatton will join Cameron Boyce and the Melbourne Renegades on their trip to Darwin for the T20 Strike League next month.

The KFC BBL|08 champions unique two-part reality television production ‘Renegades Recruit’, is streamed live on the club’s social media channels and News Corp’s Kayo service.

Appearance on the show was open to any male player in Victoria aged 18 or over who had not previously earned a place on a state contract list nor had gained selection for a senior Premier Cricket team in the past two years. Nominations were lodged by community clubs or associations.
