Hocking, who is also expected to feature prominently when the Goulburn Valley league names its A grade Team of the Year, was selected in the 12-player VNL Division One Team of the Year.
Last season the Rochester goaler was named best on court when she and the City West Falcons Under-19 team won the VNL premiership.
This season she and the Falcons’ Division One team were beaten by a goal in the semi-final after finishing the home-and-away season in third position.
Earlier this year Hocking was a member of the Victorian Under-19 team that competed in the national championships in Darwin and is on a trajectory that many expect will land her in the state’s elite Championship division next year.
The Falcons have been a powerhouse of the VNL competition, and won the top flight grand final against Bundoora Express by six goals.
All VNL matches are played on Wednesday evening and Hocking then backs up to play A grade with the Tigers in the Saturday afternoon GVL competition.
Hocking was one of four goalers selected in the Team of the Year and was one of only two players from her club included in the team — the other was defender Charli Nicol.
At Under-19 level the City West Falcons lost the grand final to Melbourne University Lightning by 13 goals.
Hocking will now contest the final two rounds of the GVL season with the Tigers, who need to win both games against Echuca and Shepparton United — then rely on Shepparton losing both its games.
Rochester is sitting seventh on the ladder, eight points behind the team that occupies the last finals spot in the top six.
