Lakers girls back in training

Training is on Fridays from 5pm to 6pm at the Victoria Park Practice Nets and is open to girls aged 10 to 15 year old bringing a friend along and try their hand at cricket.

"Based on the great response last season, we feel confident that the club can field a second team in the AGCL", coach Peter Brear said.

"With the popularity of cricket on the rise amongst the girls, we feel that there are more opportunities for girls wanting to play, there is no better time to take up the bat and ball."

During the September school holidays there is also the chance to try cricket at the Carnival Of Girls Cricket, designed for first times to get a taste of the game. This is a free program being run from 10am to 2:30pm on Wednesday 25th September at the HP Barr Reserve, Wangaratta. This event is being run by the City Of Wangaratta, the W&DCA and Cricket Victoria.
