Elimination Final
Mulwala 6.11: 47 def by Numurkah 10.10: 70
The reigning Reserves Premiers had the unenviable trip to Congupna to face an improved Numurkah side last Sunday for their Elimination Final.
It was a close first quarter where both teams had their opportunities but were unable to capitalise on the scoreboard.
Lingy was working hard through the middle of the ground, while Seb and Hugh Mullins kept the Numurkah forwards honest.
Numurkah got their short pass game going in the second quarter, kicking four goals to take a good lead into halftime.
Mulwala couldn't capitalise on the good work that Jake MacKinnon, Brad Ward and Damo Cook were doing in the midfield, up in the forward line.
The second half was an even contest; Jaxen Wheeler moved into the forward line and formed a dangerous attacking partnership with Kyle Abi khair which kept Mulwala in the game.
The reserves continued to attack deep into the last quarter but fell short at the final siren, which put an end to their 2025 season.
While unable to get a full side on the ground for most of the year, it was a successful campaign for coach Marcus Larkin who was extremely proud and grateful of his team for their efforts throughout the year.

Thirds
Elimination Final
Mulwala 11.7:73 def Echuca United 4.6: 30
The long drive to Deniliquin for an Elimination Final against Echuca United was greeted by gale force winds blowing directly to one end of the large Deni ground.
The captain's had their first win of the day when Echuca won the toss and strangely decided to let Mulwala kick with the breeze in the first quarter.
The Thirds took advantage of the windy conditions and piled on four goals in the quarter thanks mainly to the run out of the middle of Van and Axel.
The second quarter was going to be challenge, but the whole team stepped up the pressure and ran the ball out of defence through the wind as Van and Beau used their speed, run, carry and precise kicking skills to pierce through the Echuca defence.
The Mulwala Thirds kicked another four goals and kept Echuca goalless up to halftime.
Another strong third quarter saw the team kick ten goals coming into the last quarter. Although Echuca got a few goals back, it wasn't enough as Mulwala went on to score a great victory and advance into the semifinal next week against Deniliquin in Numurkah.
