The under-15 and under-17 Goulburn sides were announced at the weekend, with names included from Echuca, Echuca United and Moama.
Emma Moyle and Violet Agg, who starred in the Eagles’ Murray League under-15 grand final win in September, are in.
As is one of the runners-up that day, Moama’s Pippa Leeds.
Echuca boasts Harper Maddison, Luella Williams and Maisie Stevens in the squad.
There’s less representation in the under-17s.
But Echuca’s Lexie Howard and Sarah Head and Moama’s Abbey McCarty and Evie Clarke all could play pivotal roles in the side.
Heroic Head dominated in the circle with 29 goals in the under-15 GVL decider, which powered the Murray Bombers to a flag.
And Head, McCarty and Clarke are no strangers to stepping up a level.
It was only earlier this year the trio finished third with Victoria at the School Sport Australia championships.
Now they’re looking to reunite their on-court dynamic in Bendigo.
But there’s still one checkpoint to pass before then.
The 40 selected players now undertake a six-week training block.
Then both squads are trimmed to 12 players each before Christmas — the final selection for the major March tournament.
