He was recognised for a commitment to the club spanning a 40-year period.
Mark started his playing career in the late 1970s, and quickly established himself as a senior player in a golden era for the club.
Team members from that time, Mark ‘Pip’ O’Bryan and Michael Hawkins, both gave accounts of his career stats and favourable memories. Being a dual premiership player and club best and fairest were highlighted.
Angus Robertson joined the presentation via a phone link from England and, together with his brother Tim, spoke about Mark’s guidance and encouragement as they grew up playing for the Cats.
They also reminisced about the special time of having all six siblings playing for the Cats in football and netball.
Former club president Ashley Haynes spoke of Mark’s time on the committee, overseeing recruiting, and being the driving force behind the farming project which underpinned the new Recreation Reserve precinct.
Mark responded by thanking the members of the club, his family and those who played significant roles during his time at the Cattery.
Current club president Matthew Clarke presented Mark with his life membership badge.
