Kyel Bain stepped back from the role, leaving room for Adrian Timmis to take up the mantle.
Starting his coaching career in 2008 at Wunghnu and winning a flag at Shepp East, he then went on to coach teams in the Mornington Peninsula area as well as being a development coach for junior football.
“We believe Adrian will be a great asset to the club with his drive to succeed,” the club said.
“Get behind him and make him part of our Blighty family.”
Timmis said he is glad to be making a return to the Picola & District Football League with this appointment to the Redeyes.
“I’m very excited about being appointed as Blighty’s senior coach, having played many years of junior and senior football in the Picola league.
“I know first hand that Blighty Football Club has a very proud and honoured tradition, making my appointment even more so that little bit special.”
Blighty finished at the bottom of the 2023 seniors ladder without a single win for the season.
Timmis said he has a few ideas up his sleeves that will hopefully turn things around for the club.
“My primary goals are to stabilise the team, fostering consistency and resilience, and to implement a new game plan and structure,” he said.
“Clear communication and collaboration with players and coaching staff will be key in achieving these objectives.
“I believe in involving the team in the process, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
“Regular assessments and adjustments will be made to enhance overall performance and achieve success on the field.
“I am eager to lead the team to a positive turnaround in the upcoming season.”
Timmis heads up a well rounded collection of coaches within the Redeyes camp.
Jarod Andrews and George Reid will work together to coach the thirds, and Jim Macdonald and assistant Bede Orr will head up the fourths.
