With the Murray League on a general bye this Saturday, there will be less local sport to get among, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting your fix with plenty of interesting match-ups ahead.
Chiefly, Echuca will host Euroa on Saturday at Victoria Park for round 13 of the Goulburn Valley League.
While the Murray Bombers’ senior men side are tipped as heavy favourites against a struggling Magpie outfit, the A-grade netball will be quite the enthralling spectacle as it is the second 2024 grand final rematch of the season.
The senior footballers will be the first cabs off the rank with first bounce scheduled for 2pm, while the A-grade netballers will begin shortly after at 2.15pm.
In the Heathcote District Football Netball League, Lockington-Bamawm United and Leitchville-Gunbower will both have tough contests in round 12.
The Cats will travel to Colbinabbin to face the Grasshoppers, while the Bombers will host the Mighty Mounts at Gunbower Recreation Reserve.
Both senior football matches and A-grade netball games will start at 2.30pm.
With Mathoura having the bye for round 14 of the Picola District Football Netball League, Picola United will be the only local representative in action.
The Blues will host Katamatite at Picola Recreation Reserve, with the A-grade netballers beginning their contest at 1.30pm and the senior footballers continuing soon after at 2.05pm.
After last week’s losses, the men and women’s Border Raiders teams will look to bounce back at Jack Eddy Oval on Sunday, July 6.
In round nine, the BASL men’s league two team will host Strathfieldsaye Colts at 2pm, while the BASL women’s league one side will face Eaglehawk FC at noon.
Echuca-Moama Hockey will not be in action for the next two weeks as the competition is on a bye for the school holidays.
The competition will recommence in round nine on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29.
