Ryan is a Sport Australia Hall of Fame inductee and will be joined by Gawler Horse Trial winner John Bird at the upcoming event.
Event secretary Wendy Strachan said it was an amazing opportunity to have someone of Ryan’s calibre, bring their expertise to the region.
“A lot of us watched Matt ride to gold at the 2000 Athens Olympics," Wendy said.
“He is a successful competitor and a successful instructor, and those put together makes for a really rewarding experience.”
Ryan began his career in the UK, under the wing of Britain's most successful equestrian Olympian, Richard Meade.
He competed in multiple international tournaments from 1988 to 2004 and won gold in the 1992 Barcelona, and 2000 Sydney Olympics’.
Since his retirement from competitive eventing in 2014, he returned to Australia to coach, commentate and host eventing yards, alongside his wife Zoe.
