This going week the Roos face the Wangaratta Magpies on Thursday night in Wangaratta starting at 5:30pm. It is the Terry Sock it to Cancer round where the girls will all be wearing coloured socks. Wang Magpies will also be selling MND beanies to support the fight against MND.

The girls came out strong in the first quarter but unfortunately were not able to keep up with their opposition in the second quarter, making it hard to catch up for the rest of the game. The girls continued to work well as a team and adjusted well to a number of changes in the last quarter in which they our scored their opponents.
Awards:
Club 1 -Kyah Harvey played a great mid court game. Feed and clearing well and working with the attackers around the ring.
Essential Beauty - Taleaka Dickins was work horse picking off intercepts at every chance. Her move to GK in the last quarter changed up the opponents goaling, working well with Vic in Defence.
Thrive wellness - Jemma Smith even though not feeling 100% Jemma through herself into her different positions each quarter. Working well in the defensive end with Vic and Taleaka.
MVP - Kiara Corkett leadership in the attack end is a great support to both Grace and Chelsea.

Under 17s
Roos 32 v Hoppers 62
The 17s girls were up against another tough competitor in North Albury. The girls set goals and within the first couple of minutes they achieved one of those goals which gave them the drive to fight the game out. This week the 17s were boosted by Howlong duo of Audrey Hogan and Lily Kohn who joined the girls in their second game for the Roos. Audrey gave great support to Milly O’Kane in defence, both did a lot of leg work and made it hard for the very accurate Hopper’s shooters to get the ball. Down in the attack end Lily was able to work in with the Eloise Black who week by week is showing she is a natural GS.
Awards:
Club 1 - Audrey Hogan has an amazing reach and adjusted well to playing with Milly in defence. Placing pressure on every gaol shot.
Corowa Chocolate factory - Milly O’Kane stretch and ability to pull in intercepts gave the team many opportunities to convert. She never gives up and is dogged in her persistence.
Origin Clothing - Remy Longmire continues to be throw her body on the line for an opportunity to regain possession. She is quick and drives hard.
Under 15s
Roos 24 def by Hoppers 29
Another great collective team effort on the home court saw the young Roo girls- a slightly slow start in the first quarter 9 to 5. In the next two quarters the girls continual pressure saw them go into the final quarter 3 goals behind the Hoppers. With a couple of unlucky momentum swings in the last quarter left the girls just missing out on the four points at the end of the day. Noel was extremely proud of the fight of the whole playing group and reiterated that the wins are just around the corner.
Awards:
Club 1 Lily Palmer- was the defensive wall in defence this week with little getting past her reach. Lily’s pressure on their shooters shots and followed up rebounding skills were an amazing boost of energy for her teammates and really kept us in the contest all day.
Sportspower award: Sophie Sleight- Sophie’s hard work and pressure on the opponent’s players saw her get multiple tips on the ball and a couple of game changing intercepts which kept us right in it. Her strong connection with partner in crime Lily saw the Hoppers continually changing up their combinations in the hope to score more freely.
Doc’s award: Millie Eales- played well beyond her years in our attacking end, with her aggressive drives at the ball and shooting in her range showcasing her great game sense for such a young player. Her ability to move through the opponent’s defensive pressure and timing to change direction also showed Millie’s growth so far this year.
SS&A award: Rahni Dickins- put together another quick attacking game starting in Centre and then moved into WA. At the end of the third quarter her coach moved her into the WD position with clear instructions on what the team needed which she went out and executed showing her ability to also shut players out of the game.
MVP: Keeley Symonds put together another solid game with her strong drives at the ball and quick ball movement helping the Roos stay right in the contest. Her ability to reach the first phase pass and drive the ball into the goal end was a standout for the team.
