It was described as a “rippa game” with Corowa-Rutherglen overcoming a slow start to down Lavington by six goals, 37 to 31 last Saturday at Lavington.
The Roos worked their way back into the game in the second and third.
Strong team defence from all players, particularly on a turnover in the attack end, allowed the winners to come up with enough ball to take the lead back.
Player’s player went to ‘Leaping Larry’ (Em Laracy) who stunned many with her long arms around the circle in WD.
Coach’s award and opposition MVP went to Lou (Dan) Madden who fired up and was strong in that circle all game.
Well done to the Rooers. Big game next week against the mighty Pies.
Lou Madden takes aim with Indi Fraunfelder ready.

The Roos had a slow first half start to the game finding it hard to get a rhythm on court meant that they were behind on the score line at half time.
With some positional changes in the second half, the girls were able to settle down and become more consistent with goals and defensive pressure over the whole court - they came together and worked hard to keep the score line from getting away any further. Credit to the girls who continued to fight hard rebounding the ball.
Awards: Steph Sutcliffe (Club 1) – it was great to have Steph back playing both ends of the court she was strong, positive and a great contributor to the game.
Ava Phibbs (Health Hub) – who ran a full game in centre, she did not lose her consistency and continues to work hard with the other centre court players
Niamh Lavins (Ladies Committee) - also playing both ends of the court and was able to rise the challenge in the keeper’s role working her feet and rebounding the ball.

A tough game against a strong Lavi side tested the Under-15s, but the team showed determination and patches of solid play throughout.
The 15s take the lessons from this match and keep building towards stronger performances.
Awards: Kaity Ford (Origin Clothing) - Consistently had strong takes, picking up multiple deflections and turnovers.
Bel Bruce (Dress Hire) - Shut down her opponent defensively and played a key role in transition, using her voice to assert her control.
Asha Mardling (Canteen) - Stood strong in GK, contesting balls into the circle and flying out for intercepts with confidence, building pressure.
Congratulations to Lisa French on her 50th Roos game. This weekend the girls take on Wangaratta Magpies at home.
A huge congratulations to Em Laracy on her 200th O&M game as well as her 100th A Grade game for the Roos – what a fantastic achievement!
