This week the side welcomed captain Mollie Leetham back from her honeymoon, after her marriage to Rover’s senior footballer Adam Bodey, which brought back the team’s voice down the court.
Mollie’s encouragement and guidance has been missed the last couple of weeks.
The team is really starting to settle into a great rhythm as they settled quickly and took the lead, capitalising on many turnovers and intercepts.
Millie Joice and Carissa Holmberg worked effortlessly in the goal circle.
The midcourt combinations were constantly backing each other up and following the ball the whole way down the court.
The defence end, as usual, was relentless not letting Tungamah get any easy passes in to their shooters. The Rovers whole defence end held the pressure right to the end.
Unfortunately, Prue Meharry went down at the end of the third quarter with an injury. We hope for a speedy recovery.
All-in-all, the girls are proving to be a strong and well-rounded team and look forward to coming up against some like-minded strong teams in the coming weeks.
