Despite facing tough competition, all three Roos teams displayed exceptional determination and resilience, with C Grade going down by just 6 points in an epic nailbiter.
At Saturday’s games the club also rallied together to support Mia Lavis, a talented player from Howlong who represents the Raiders' 17s team. Mia has earned the honour of representing Australia in the FAST 5 netball event at the Youth Commonwealth Games in Trinidad Tobago.
The Roos and their club members generously donated approximately $230 to aid Mia in her journey and wish her the best of luck.
The club would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the incredible supporters who gathered on Saturday to cheer on the Roos. Another home game this weekend as the Roos take on Lavington.
Vic Borg was brilliant in defence.

Club 1 - Chelsea Parker worked consistently in WA the whole game applying the training session in every way. She drove hard for the ball and was always reordering with options for the shooters around the ring.
Essential Beauty - Vic Borg played a great defensive game in GK and in W. Her agility and ability to read the play and intercept is an absolute advantage for the team.
Thrive Wellness & MVP - Kiara Corkett showed leadership and great communication to the whole team. Keys and Grace worked well in the ring together with defenders that were much taller.

It was always going to be a tough game against the first-class team of Wodonga Raiders.
The first quarter started off slow and the raiders got the jump on the young Roos. From there, each quarter the Roos improved and with quarter-by-quarter goals, they were able to focus on small wins.
The Raiders comfortably won but the Roo girls never gave up.

Roos 14 defeated by Raiders 36
The youngest Roos were excited to be playing on their home court in front of a hometown supporter base and were right in the contest with a lot of possession in the first half.
Unfortunately, the girls just couldn’t convert the chances which saw them end the first half trailing the Raiders 16 to 7.
Starting the third quarter strong with great pressure and attack but again couldn’t convert which impacted them gaining momentum with the final score being 14 to 36.
Coach Noel was pleased with their fight and reminded the girls to look forward to the next challenge being Lavi Panthers at home.
Awards:
Club 1 -Keeley Symonds- game continues to grow every week with her ability to change direction to get the first phase pass and then feeding the ball into the goalers. Keeley’s continuous drive to win the ball is a highlight for the team again this week.
Sportspower: Sophie Sleight worked tirelessly in defence again this week with her connection with Lily starting to build stronger every game. It was great to see Sophie take on more of the ownership of transitioning the ball out of defence with strong drives at the ball and down the court.
Doc’s: Bree Forrest- Bree continues to improve with her pressure to turn over the ball being one of the keys to teams’ success in the first half. Bree’s tight defensive pressure was extremely valuable in also slowing down Raiders feeds into the goal circle which assisted the goal defenders have a crack at turning over the ball.
SS&A: Lily Palmer- Another solid defensive performance from Lily, keeping the opponents scoring opportunities to a minimum. Lily’s amazing reach over the opponents shot also assisted us by impacting their willingness to shoot from range.
MVP: Laila Van Dermeer did a great job moving to the ball and then opening up space for her team mates to get the ball. Her natural ability to be a team player really helped the other attacking players get into the game as well.
