“It’s an absolute pleasure to announce our first recruit for the upcoming 2025/26 season, Cal Langlands,” Roos’ president Paul Lavis said.
“Cal’s record speaks for itself, winning multiple CAW Provincial premierships showing his class with both bat and ball.”
Langlands has played in a total of seven premierships including four T20 finals.
The soon-to-be 28-year-old number 3 batsman, leg spinner and Riverina representative has enjoyed his time with the Hoppers but is seeking a fresh challenge.
“I’ve been most impressed with Corowa Cricket Club and it’s a lovely cricket ground,” he said.
“The players have always shown respect on and off the field – it’s something I admired. They are all great, good country people.”
Langlands will be vice-captain to dynamic allrounder Ben Mitchell. “I got to know Ben last season when we played together in the Riverina,” sheetmetal worker Langlands said. “He’s great.”
The Roos hierarchy is keen to keep the momentum going at Ball Park Oval with recruits following the return to Sydney of opening batsman Shaun Smith, rungetter Matt Wilson in Canberra and dynamic allrounder Jarryd Hatton playing with St Pats.
The batting and bowling stocks will be replenished for season 2025/26 with recruits.
