Roos 51 defeated Magpies 45
The Roos A Grade netballers were keen for a win especially to celebrate Em Laracy’s 100th A Grade Roos’ game and 200th O&M game – congratulations Em on this fantastic achievement.
The last time these two sides met, Corowa won the game by just one goal. With that in mind, the first quarter saw a face paced game by both sides.
In the second quarter the girls came out firing with Lou shooting 16 goals to take the lead by nine.
Wang Magpies stepped up a notch in the third quarter and applied the pressure to take the lead.
Sal addressed the girls with clear instructions and they applied themselves with their Roo girls spirit and determination to take the win.
This weekend will be a tight tussle taking on the Raiders who are sitting third on the ladder.
Awards: Lou Madden (Club 1) – great game in the ring shooting 42 goals.
Gabe Mcrae (Essential Beauty & MVP) – well deserving of being named player of the match – pay up Steve!
Soph Hanrahan (Ladies Committee) – solid game in defence with some great intercepts to bring the ball down the court.
B Grade
Roos 44 defeated Magpies 38
An early congratulations to little pocket rocket, Kiara (Keys) Corkett who plays her 200th O&M game this weekend.
The girls will travel up to Wodonga to take on Wodonga Raiders.
Awards: Audrey Hogan (Club 1 & MVP), Remy Longmire (Thrive Wellness) and Sophie Arnold (Ladies Committee).
C Grade
Roos 42 defeated by Magpies 43
C grade started slowly against the Wang Magpies who are on top of the ladder.
The girls eventually found their groove and worked hard in every quarter. The goalers, Eloise and Chloe found their rhythm again.
Naimh swung to the defence and showed her versatility. Rebounding and quick on her feet, she worked well with Charlotte.
Seven goals behind at half time the girls maintained their composure and dug deep. Chelsea Parker played a captain’s game, her strongest game yet.
Strong drives, passing to shooters with accuracy and a leader on court.
Ava was also consistent and gave strong leads in the centre court.
The second half saw the team push hard and claw back the lead. One of their best games yet.
Issy stepped up in WD as well. Coaches were very proud of the whole team.
Going down to the wire the girls lost by one goal to top of ladder as they did in round one.
Showing they have the ability to push the best team.

Under 17s
Roos 32 defeated by Magpies 50
Awards: Mia Elliot (Docs & MVP), Sienna Sampson (Sportspower) and Charlotte Broad (Ladies Committee).
Under 15s
Roos 39 defeated by Magpies 56
The Roo girls faced a tough challenge against the Wang Magpies, going down 39-56 in a competitive game. Despite the scoreboard, it was a great team effort with plenty to be proud of.
The team set out with a clear goal: to maintain positivity throughout the game – and they did just that.
Led by acting captain Kaity Ford, the girls showed great energy and unity on court. Kaity’s inspiring talk, relentless drive, and positive presence helped lift the whole team, earning her the Origin Award.
In the shooting circle, Millie Eales was cool, calm, and composed, delivering a standout performance.
Her accurate shooting from all areas of the goal circle was impressive, securing her the Dress Hire Award and opposition coach MVP.
Down in defence, Lilyana Wright was as solid as ever – strong, dependable, and always applying pressure.
Her efforts didn’t go unnoticed, earning her the Canteen Award for her consistent and fearless play.
All in all, it was a strong team game from the Roo Girls.
They played with heart, backed each other, and kept their spirits high. A great effort by all.
This coming weekend the girls will travel up to Wodonga to take on Wodonga Raiders. Good luck to all teams.
