The Rovers suffered a 14-point loss to Jerilderie in the Picola League last week.
Rovers head coach Alex Hay said the team were displeased with their overall performance, after going into half-time with a 21-point lead.
“Last week was disappointing to lose, especially having played some reasonable football in the second quarter to set ourselves up.
“After half-time we were a little lethargic, and they made a point to congest the style of game, which we took too long to respond to.”
“We’ve made a focus of that at training this week to keep it open, which we are more suited to - particularly on our home ground.
“Overall, though, it’s certainly a good learning opportunity for a young team playing against some hardened and experienced players, which we will take into account this weekend.”
The Rovers’ match-up this week, Tungamah, has been a team of consistently high standards.
Despite this, Hay said he believes the team’s plans can work against quality opposition.
“Tungamah have been a high-performing team over a long period and we’re under no illusions of the challenges this week.
“They have some good players, particularly through the midfield, but the message will be to maintain our structure and trust that what we have been doing will hold up against a top-end team.“
