Rutherglen Field and Game donation

Rutherglen Field and Game has made a generous donation of $1000 to Glenview Residential Aged Care Rutherglen following their yearly charity event in early April.

Now officially named the Glenview Charity Shoot, 25 shooters attended the April 10 event from all over including Rutherglen, Albury-Wodonga, Yarrawonga, Wangaratta and Benalla.

In previous years the club has raised money for the Fire Brigade and also friends of Glenview which has since folded.

Glenview’s Eva Petterson thanked Rutherglen Field and Game for their big donation which she said will go a long way.

“Thank you very much for the donation. It is very much appreciated,” she said.

“We are looking to put in furniture in our new outdoor area and this will certainly allow us to that.

“Having a second outdoor area is so beneficial to our residents because it gets them all together outside and in a great and welcoming space. The residents do appreciate it too.”

Upon hearing how the money would be used club members Wayne Kerr, Becky McCluskey and John Catterall said it made it very “worthwhile”.

“The charity event was a great day and people who attended told us they specifically travel here for it because it raises money for a good cause,” Becky said.

Rutherglen Field and Game formed around 13 years ago and now have around 70 members.
